Google has just announced its new gaming platform Stadia. Stadia will be a cloud-based streaming service that will enable users to play games on virtually any device (PC, Phone, T.V). Google has been one of the leaders of innovation in technology and its interest in gaming streaming services comes as no surprise. Some key features of the Stadia are:
- Cross-Platform Play
- Cloud Saves
- Crowd Play- Allowing Streamers to play with their viewers in real time
- State Share- Sharing a moment from a game to a friend and allowing them to pick up from that exact moment in the gameplay.
- Google Assistant Integration
With many companies getting into the game streaming business, consumers have many options as to who they will decide to use for these services. Competition is always a good thing but as noted in my previous post, this new direction has its potential downfalls. What do you think? Do you have any interest in subscribing to Stadia or any of the game streaming services out there? Does this streaming services features provide enough innovation to the model to drive interest in consumers? Let me know in the comments!
