Just a day after leaked information about Xbox`s new disc-free console, Peter Rubin at wired.com releases exclusive details on the upcoming console from Playstation. Within the article it is confirmed by Mark Cenry, Sony`s lead console architect some of the features to look forward to. Though Sony will unfortunately not be at E3 this year, the article allows for a sneak peek into some of the behind the scenes work being done on the much anticipated unnamed PS4 successor. Some of the confirmed features included:
- Upgraded GPU/CPU
- 3D Audio
- Backwards Compatibility (PS4 psychical discs will work on the new console)
I`m especially excited to hear about some of the things they are working on for the next installment in the PlayStation series. I`ve owned all of the PlayStation consoles thus far and have created many lasting gaming memories from the variety of franchises it has to offer. Backwards compatibility is a feature that has been missing for a very long time and is finally being implemented. With Xbox’s success of game pass and its backwards compatibility with the Xbox360, PlayStation users will now have an even more expanded library of games to play on the new console. It will be interesting to see what other news we get in regards to the potential PS5 and its price and launch release date moving forward. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for more information but its nice to gain some insights as to what to expect as the next generation of consoles being their rollouts. What do you think? Are you excited about some of the mentioned features? What features would you like to see implemented ? Sound off in the comment section!
