GameStop released an article providing new details on a running rumor that Xbox had an all-digital console on the horizon. Images from a German run site called WinFuture.de reveals that the Xbox One S will come with a TB of memory as well as Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3 pre-installed. No pricing or release date have been revealed as of yet but with E3 coming in June this year more will hopefully be confirmed around this mysterious new entry into the Xbox Family.

Personally I’m not a big fan of the digital only console approach. For starters I still see the value in owning a physical copy of certain games. I usually will purchase highly anticipated games or single player driven games on a physical disc because I like the value in owning the copy for my library. I also do have a external hard-drive full of downloaded games from the Playstaion Network so though I’m not a fan there is definitely a market for such a product. The big question is how much it will cost. Seeing as we’re a few years away from the next wave of new-gen consoles with rumours of the PS5 and a newer Xbox console to be released, will the cost be reasonable to consumers given how old the Xbox One is? And if so do you think this move to more digital consumption of video games (Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, PlaysationNow) is the necessary future to keep the longevity of gaming alive? Let me know in the comments!
